Dr. Douglas Joo
President
Dr. Joo has served as Chairman and President of The Washington Times, United Press International, and several other international news publications under News World Communications, as well as AmericanLife TV Network and other electronic media. He was President of World Media Association, The Washington Times Foundation, American Family Coalition, and Times Aviation International, as well as International President of the Youth Federation for World Peace. He was Co-Chairman of the board of trustees of the University of Bridgeport, CT.
Dr. Sun Jin Moon
Executive Director
Dr. Moon has served as Chair or Board Director of various nonprofits and businesses. She holds a master’s degree in clinical and counseling psychology from Columbia University, New York, a bachelor’s degree in liberal arts from Harvard University, and an honorary doctorate degree from Sun Moon University, South Korea. She has a successful track record of leading campaigns to promote environmental sustainability and raising funds. In her spare time, she enjoys doing culinary arts, meditation, and yoga.
Dr. In Sup Park
Executive Assistant
Dr. Park has served as Chair for Pacific Rim Integrated Development Group in Hawaii and held various roles in other nonprofits and businesses. He holds an MBA from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, New York, a Master of Science in Hospitality Industry Studies from New York University, USA, a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry and Economics from Cornell University, and an honorary doctorate from Sun Moon University, South Korea. He is dedicated to finding ways to take care of the environment in a financially sustainable way.
Dr. Dinshaw Dadachanji
Research Director
After earning his PhD in molecular biology at Yale University, Dr. Dadachanji taught college-level chemistry for a few years, followed by 20 years of editing magazines and educational materials that covered a broad range of areas in science, technology, and medicine. He is excited to be part of the efforts of HJIFEP to protect and rejuvenate the natural environment for the benefit of humanity and our planet as a whole. He is also looking forward to the day when our understanding of the universe through both science and spirituality is harnessed to elevate the human experience.
Mr. Christoph Wilkening
Desk Editor
Mr. Wilkening started his career as Foreign News Desk Assistant for The News World. He eventually became the Editorial Production Coordinator for The World & I Magazine and later joined The Washington Times as Editorial Production Editor. As he has always held great passion for the health of nature and our environment, he now serves as Desk Editor for The Earth & I. He aspires to deliver the most informative, educational, and yet enjoyable stories of how to protect, cherish, and live in harmony with nature, and create a healthy and peaceful world environment.
Mr. Jerry Chesnut
Associate Editor
Since a young age, Mr. Chesnut’s primary interests have been in art, including the healing arts, pursuing a regenerative agrarian lifestyle, exploring consciousness, and solving humanity’s most troubling problems. He holds a BS in Liberal Studies from the University of the State of New York, and a Master of Divinity degree from the Unification Theological Seminary. He currently studies meditation, healing (human, plant, and animal), and pathways to experiencing the Divine Presence and Ultimate Reality. He serves as Associate Editor for The Earth & I magazine.
Mr. Shimpuku Uezono
Assistant Editor
Mr. Uezono assists the Foundation in various capacities including scientific research, handling communications, and data organization. He graduated from the University of Washington, Seattle, with a Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering. Based on his experience in translation and interpretation while working at affiliated organizations, such as the Sun Hak Institute of History, his main role is Assistant Editor for the publication of the Foundation’s environmental magazine, The Earth & I.
Ms. Chrysantha Brandner
Business Manager
An entrepreneur at heart, Chrysantha has created several initiatives from bicycle restoration projects to raise money for philanthropic work in the Philippines, to a bio-sustainable garden at her alma mater, which is still producing delicious organic meals! She holds a BS in International Relations and MA in Peace NGO Studies. Ms. Brandner’s interests include creating a beautiful, sustainable world, and raising public awareness of our planet through environmental science and education. She is involved in Market Research & Strategic planning, and managing social media accounts, for The Earth & I.
Mr. Gregg Jones
Outreach Director
Mr. Jones has a BS degree in Biology from the University of Maryland (UMD), College Park. He worked as a research assistant at the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Lab studying effects on the environment from nuclear energy, and UMD’s Horn Point Lab studying pollutants in water runoff from agricultural fields seeping into groundwater. He taught biology and horticulture for over ten years and developed an educational farm during that time. Mr. Jones has served as horticulture adviser in Kenya, Ecuador, and many areas of the United States. He currently is devoted to promoting awareness of and service to nature through numerous outreach projects.
Mr. Ryu-Sung Peter Weinmann
Associate Administrative Director
Mr. Weinmann graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park, with a Bachelor of Science in physics. He is involved in various aspects of the Foundation including communications, human resources, research, editing, event planning and coordination, online and print publications, budgeting, bookkeeping, and addressing legal aspects of the organization. He enjoys learning about the frontier sciences and innovative technologies that can be applied to promote the well-being of the planet.
